Richard Corben 1940-2020
(ICC iMac 6.000K or DCI-P3)
He was one of the great comic book and illustration artists. He wrote his own projects.
At the height of his long career, he was signed by the famous Spanish editor and agent Josep Toutain for his publications in the magazines Creepy, Comix Internacional, and 1984 (Zona 84), using material already published by Warren and entirely original material created specifically for this new phase with Toutain.
Over time, his freshness and dynamism continue to surprise audiences today. Corben developed his own coloring method. Initially, he used simple CMYK separations, which later became more intricate, employing four different tones within each CMYK color. Simultaneously, he developed his illustrated covers using traditional techniques with acrylics, oils, and greasepaint effects on acetate sheets.
Extracting printed images for this gallery involved using computer programs to reduce or completely eliminate the halftone effect in order to achieve the closest possible match to the original colors.
